2017 Santolin Gladysdale Chardonnay

Matured in French oak, 30% new, on lees for 10 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Aromas of fleshy white peaches, ripe nectarines and dried honey meld into cashew, biscuity oak, light nougat and spice. There’s a creamy feel to the rich white peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours which sit over cashew, citrusy nougat and spice elements. Finishes with good freshness and length. Creamy tinged aftertaste of white peaches, nectarines, dried honey, cashew and spicy nougat.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, a portion fermented on skins, matured for 10 months in French oak (30% new). Mouthfilling and complex, it has a bracing, crisp finish ex natural acidity. A special vintage. Drink by 2029.
