2017 Rogues Lane Heathcote Shiraz

From vines planted in 1995 this wine was matured for 20 months in a mix of new (40%) and older French oak. Magnificent colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced liquorice allsorts, blackberry and confectionary aromas meld into vanillin oak, fennel and pepper notes. Very rich and voluptuous in texture, liquorice and blackberry fruits sit over a back drop of toasty vanillin oak, subtle dark chocolate, fennel and spicy pepper. Silky smooth tannins. Superb power with a long lavish aftertaste that has a lingering toasty vanillin oak element to it.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
