Cellar: Drink now - 8 Years (2020-2028)

Produced from the most outstanding 10 rows of the best block of Shiraz fruit on the Penny’s Hill vineyard, this wine was matured in French oak barriques of which 50% were new for a period of 18 months.
Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Engulfing the olfactory senses are potent aromatics of liquorice, ripe dark plum and blackberry which morph into vanillin oak, mocha, light earth and spice notes. Full and decadently rich, the opulent palate is awash with lavish liquorice, dark plum and blackberry fruits that fill every corner of the mouth. Vanillin oak, subtle earthy mocha and spicy pepper elements chime in on the back half. Fantastic power and density with velvet smooth tannin and a very long plush aftertaste. Limited stocks.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
10 rows of the best block, hand-picked, open-fermented, 14 days on skins, matured in French barriques (50% new) for 18 months. Every part of the wine is lifted, but balance is retained. It's very complex and full-bodied, catching dark berries, earth, licorice and the dark chocolate that Skeleton Key hinted at. Great wines from the outstanding '17 vintage. Drink by 2047.
