2017 Nautilus Chardonnay

This wine was entirely barrel fermented in French oak barriques (20% new) using indigenous yeast. A period of lees stirring post ferment added a textural element to the palate.

Bright pale straw colour with a faint glimmer of green around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated aromas of nectarine meld into citrus and white peach scents followed by dried honey, subtle toasty oak, nougat and subtle flinty matchstick notes. Rich and concentrated yet possessing a vein of freshness, the palate is filled with peach, ripe nectarine and honeyed characters which form a creamy textural feel. Citrusy nougat elements and lightly spiced cashew underpin the vibrant fruit. Superb length with a long ripe yellow fruit, dried honey, nougat, cashew and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
