2017 Mike Press Merlot

Matured in a mixture of American and French oak barrels for over 12 months. Impenetrable black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. A mixture of dark plum, blackcurrant and liquorice scents meld into toasty oak and spicy earth notes. Rich and very full the palate is stacked with plush blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which hover over spicy vanillin oak and subtle earth. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins with a long, lush and concentrated aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Very good colour; there is an abundance of red and black berry fruits, and more texture and structure to go with that fruit, maturation in French and American oak for 12 months the key. As always, great value for money. Drink by 2025.
