2017 Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Riesling

Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, convinced that it would produce some of the best Riesling in Clare. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area.

Outstanding intensity of flavour combines with racy acidity to create a mouth watering experience.

Brilliant water like colour with the faintest tinge of green around the outskirts. Intense lime and citrus aromas fill the olfactory senses followed by orange rind, a hint of green apple and talc. Concentrated flavours of lime, citrus and orange rind dart across the palate creating a zippy mouthfeel. Talc and mineral infusions following on. Dry finish with fresh crunchy acidity and a long aftertaste of lime, citrus, orange rind, talc and mineral.
