The Bruce was the first wine Izway produced and since it’s inception in 2003 it has always been unashamedly Barossan with rich fruit, power, depth, texture and structure all hallmarks of this outstanding wine. 2017 saw a continuation of great vintages in the Barossa Valley delivering bountiful crops and perfect fruit. The abundance of fruit meant that for the first time the Bruce is a Barossa and Eden Valley Shiraz with the incorporation of some Harold vineyard fruit (19%) which would normally go into their Harold label ($70). Also included in the blend is a significant portion of Don vineyard fruit (25%) which sells for $150 and Kleinig vineyard (20%) which was planted in 1895. That’s some serious pedigree for a sub $50 Barossa Shiraz.

A rich, densely textured Barossa Shiraz that stream rolls the palate with waves of seductive fruit.

Magnificent inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Captivating aromas of liquorice, dark plum and blackberry fruits engulf the olfactory senses and show great potency with an overlay of smoky vanillin cedar, subtle dried herbs, notion of dark chocolate, fennel and spice also evident. Extravagantly rich and decadently textured, saturating the mouth are lavish dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruits with subtle smoky vanillin cedar, dark chocolate, fennel, faint dried herb and spice elements adding complexity. Outstanding power and depth with velvet like yet structured tannins. Concludes exceptionally long, rich and flamboyant.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
