2017 Grosset Springvale Riesling

Certified organic. Brilliant water like colour with a faint tinge of green around the outskirts. Fragrant aromas of lemon and fresh lime juice merge with Granny Smith apple, faint orange rind, wet steel and mineral. Showing more steeliness than the Polish Hill the palate possesses wonderful fruit purity and concentration with a fine line of racy acidity threading flavours of lime, lemon, orange rind, talc and steely mineral. Dry crunchy finish. Outstanding length with a long lasting aftertaste of lime, lemon, subtle orange rind, talc and steely mineral.
Drink now or cellar 6-8 years.

Quite a delicate expression but not without drive, energy and velocity. It’s pretty in floral notes, lime-lime blossom scents, a touch of flinty mineral character. Quite succulent, just a kiss of flinty-chalkiness to texture, bristling with tangy acidity, long, fine, and elegant feeling. A little out of step for typical Springvale, but delightful in its way. Crackling mineral character throughout. Crystalline, classy riesling. Drink 2017-2030+
