Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and a touch of grapefruit are overlaid by flinty struck match stick characters with some citrus and spice also evident. Elegantly weighted with a fresh feel the palate is flavoured with white peaches and nectarines subtlety infused with gun flint and light dried honey characters showing excellent length and drive. Also evident are nuances of citrusy nougat and spice. Refined, delicately creamed mouthfeel finishing dry and vibrant. Well balanced fresh acidity. Long aftertaste of white peaches, nectarines, infusions of gun flint, light dried honey and subtle citrusy nougat. An elegant, lightly creamed Chardonnay that shows plenty of length and drive.

Other Reviews….
I can feel a bit of a buzz already around 2017 Yarra Valley whites.
Some wines make you wonder for a while, but no such qualms here: the quality was clear from the first sip. It’s the way it travels through the mouth that’s most impressive, it sizzles a little, bursts with some grapefruit, has a softening gloss of almond, and maybe some white peach and pear, a minor amount of struck match, and the finish is long, clean, and flavoursome. It’s a wine that will please and delight all comers. Drink 2018-2024.
