Other Reviews....
A slightly riper if somewhat restrained nose mixes both white and yellow orchard fruit aromas with hints of citrus zest, acacia and a spice wisp. There is fine volume and particularly the mid-palate as there is a very good level of sappy dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the firm acid spine shaping the dry, powerful and classy finish. As is often the case with this wine, it should drink reasonably well after only 5-ish years but repay 10 to 12 years.

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts is showing beautifully, opening in the glass with scents of citrus oil, wheat toast, pastry cream, crisp green apple and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, this elegantly textural wine is deep, concentrated and mineral.

Pale, bright, green-tinged yellow. Vibrant scents of citrus fruits and white flowers. Silky, broad and refined, with its classic dryness leavened by an element of orchard fruit sweetness. Finishes dry, pure and persistent, with lingering notes of flowers and spices and the acidity, backbone and grip to support mid-term aging. This is always a rather broad, low-pH wine in this collection of premier crus. Incidentally, the estate is starting to replant some vines from the 1960s that are no longer very productive, according to Benoît Riffault.
