Other Reviews....
An almost Chablis-like nose combines notes of quinine, petrol and matchstick with those of cool citrus and soft floral wisps. The racy and equally well-detailed flavors possess almost painful intensity before concluding in a chiseled and beautifully persistent finish. This firmly structured effort will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my predicted range.

Unfurling in the glass with aromas of wheat toast, crisp green orchard fruit, white peach and subtle hints of nutmeg, as well as a touch of youthful struck match, Sauzet's 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne is medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive, with a lively but envelopingly textural profile, excellent concentration and tension at the core, and a long, delicately chalky finish. This saw a very judicious 25% new wood and is shaping up to be one of the finest renditions of this cuvée that I've tasted.
