$899.88 Dozen
ABV: 13%

Many experts consider Chateau Haut Bergeron to be the best of the non classified Sauternes. Part of the secret of the success of Robert Lamothes and his sons Patrick and Herue is the terroir. The 28 hectare vineyard is split on such a way, that part of the vines are in Barsac, (next to Chateau Climens), part are at Preignac and a large slice next to Chateau d’Yquem. At one stage the label used to boast this fact, with the words 'CONTIGU d’YQUEM'. Son, Herue is a dedicated and passionate winemaker who ages wine in 25% to 50% new oak casks. The exact percentage depends upon the vintage conditions.

Other Reviews....
The 2017 Haut-Bergeron gives up notes of apple pie, lemon tart and honeyed peaches with a waft of orange blossom. It has a wicked backbone of refreshing acid in the mouth with good citrus and stone fruit intensity and impressive length.

A wine of real density and power, the 2017 Haut-Bergeron offers up a striking array of coconut, wild flowers, passion fruit, orange peel and mint. Persistent and deep, the 2017 carries itself with real substance and intensity through to the finish.
