2017 Chalk Hill Grenache Tempranillo

A delightful blend of 50% Grenache, 36% Tempranillo and 14% Graciano matured in old French oak barrels for 10 months. Deep bright dark red core with black tinged edges and a light purple crimson hue. Fragrant ripe dark raspberry aromas intermingle with dark cherry and liquorice over subtle vanillin cedar, traces of earth and spice notes. Light in body and very savoury the palate is filled with bright red fruit flavours of raspberry, ripe cherry and red liquorice with an undercard of inky earth and spice. Finishes fresh with bright acidity and slightly grainy tannins. Excellent length with an aftertaste of juicy raspberries, ripe cherries, liquorice, subtle inky earth and plenty of spice.
