2017 Ar. Agr. F.lli Cigliuti Campass Barbera d'Alba

Made entirely from Barbera sourced from 35 year old vines. Aging takes place in a mix of new, second and third use barriques for 18 months. Magnificent inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas show good lift out of the glass followed by some black cherry, dried herb, scorched earth and spice notes. Rich, densely textured lush dark fruits are backed by vibrant acidity and ripe chewy tannins that have some grip. Elements of earth, subtle infusions of fresh herbs and spice are also apparent. Dryish finish with an earthen, bright dark fruited aftertaste.
