Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright crimson red hue. Fragrant aromas of violets, ripe dark cherries and strawberries are overlaid by anise with a light meatiness and spicy vanillin cedar also present. Showing good richness and drive within a light to medium bodied framework the palate features flavours of spicy red & dark cherries, strawberries and faint infusions of anise over some meatiness and spicy cedar. Slightly dryish finish with perfectly integrated almost velvet like tannin structure. Long aftertaste of spice, dark cherries, strawberries, meaty characters and spicy cedar.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked and sorted, 80% destemmed, 20% whole bunches, 2 days cold soak, wild yeast open-fermented in stainless steel and traditional oak cuves, 10-14 days on skins, matured in French puncheons (25% new) for 11 months. Light, though bright colour; the expressive, flowery red fruit aromas set the scene for a palate with fine, silky tannins and a lingering finish. Drink by 2028.
