Cabernets rich blackcurrant fruit is backed by Malbec’s earthy dark cherry elements and a great framework of tannins.

A blend of 84% Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Frankland River Malbec matured in a mixture of new and older French oak for 16 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. The nose releases lifted aromatics of ripe red to black currants, subtle earthy black olive notes, cigar box and spicy tobacco. Medium to full bodied the palate is graced with rich blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit which melds into cedary tobacco characters, scorched earth, black olives and spicy dried herbs. Elegant yet generous mouthfeel with a slightly stern feel to the fine grained tannin structure. Long spicy blackcurrant, dark cherry, mulberry, cedary tobacco character, earthy black olive and dried herb aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
From estate vineyards in Mount Barker and Frankland River. Bright, clear crimson hue; achieves the impossible of elegance and finesse in the midst of luxuriant cabernet's cassis and malbec's plum jam. The undeniably silky tannins manipulated by an unseen puppet master create the magic. Drink by 2031.
