2016 Warrabilla Reserve Grenache

Grenache….. Warrabilla style!!

This is a big ripe Grenache… winemaker Andrew Sutherland-Smith describing it as his “Pinot…but for men.” Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright dark red hue. Intense ripe dark raspberry and strawberry jam aromas bounce out of the glass followed by hints of liquorice and sweet dark plums underscored by some vanillin oak and spice. The palate delivers massive concentration to the extent that its almost undiluted cordial like. Succulent black raspberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours flood the mouth over a back drop of vanillin oak. Finishes very spicy with a voluptuous textural feel and velvet smooth tannins. Long spicy aftertaste of juicy black raspberries, dark plums, liquorice and vanillin oak.
Cellar 4-5 years.
