Sourced from hand harvested and hand tended plots throughout the North western Barossa Valley the Woodcutter’s Shiraz is fermented in a mixture of cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days and then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres for 12 months.

One of the deepest and richest Woodcutter’s Shiraz produced to date. The juicy opulent fruit complimented by an energetic freshness.

Year in year out this entry level offering from Torbreck never fails to deliver the goods. The 2016 is another impressive addition to the lineage. Superb depth of colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark purple black tinged hue. Nosing reveals a combination of dark plum, ripe black cherry and liquorice top notes followed by vanillin cedar, notions of fennel and subtle spicy pepper notes. Rich juicy and fleshy the palate sports an opulent flavour profile of dark plums and liquorice intermixed with ripe black cherries over vanillin oak, traces of fennel and spicy pepper. Bright youthful finish with velvet smooth tannins and a long seductive aftertaste of dark plums, juicy freshly crushed blackberries, liquorice, vanillin cedar and subtle spicy pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 15%

This shows the greatness of the vintage with graphite, stone, oyster shell, blackberry, and licorice. Smoke undertone. Full body yet linear and energetic with a fabulous finish. A stunning wine. Great value for the quality. Drink now. Screw cap.
