2016 The Lane Vineyard Block 14 Basket Press Shiraz

Totally opaque midnight black core with a dark red hue. Lifted aromas of liquorice and dark plum intermix with smoky cedar, clove, dried meats and blackpepper. The elegant, medium bodied palate has flavours of spiced dark plums and liquorice over earthy cedar, smoked meats, subtle dried clove and pepper. Well structured with slightly dryish, fine grained tannins. Medium length conclusion.

10% whole bunch. It's a floral, lifted, spicy shiraz with beautiful, fluid fruit running sweetly throughout. It's medium in weight but it feels generous, an infusion of bacony/toasty oak adding positively to the impression. Tip top. Drink by 2030.
