A blend of 46% Cabernet Franc, 42% Shiraz and 12% Merlot aged for 10 months in French oak barriques (40% new) then blended and matured for a further 18 months in large 4000 litre French oak foudres. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Elevated red to blackcurrant aromas mix with hints of liquorice, vanillin cedar, light earth, spicy black olive and fresh herb notes. Rich mid weighted red to black currant fruits are interwoven with elements of earth, dried herbs, light tobacco and spice. Refined yet structured tannins with an elegant aftertaste that shows plenty of persistence.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Close-planted cabernet franc (46%) and shiraz (42%) from the Crayeres Vineyard (Wrattonbully) is blended with merlot from the Summertown Vineyard (Adelaide Hills). It's a swish red wine. Characterful. It tastes of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, mint and anise and while it serves a significant amount of flavour and is spread with tannin it feels elegant, seamless and svelte from start to finish. Drink by 2032.
