2016 Silkwood Estate The Walcott Sauvignon Blanc

Brilliant water like colour with a distinctive greenish tinge to the edges. Lifted passionfruit and citrus aromas are followed by some capsicum and herbaceous grassy notes. There’s good intensity to the fruit with ripe passionfruit flavours intermixing with citrus, green apple and capsicum. Finishes dry with crisp acidity and a touch of spice. Aftertaste of passionfruit, citrus and capsicum.

You catch the touch of French oak on the first whiff of the bouquet, but thereafter tropical fruits do all the talking and walking. Guava, passionfruit and cut grass combine with very good acidity to give the palate serious length. Drink by 2018.
