2016 Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico

Certified organic and matured for 12 months in Allier oak casks this Chianti Classico is comprised of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canailo and 5% Colorino. Excellent depth of colour displaying a black as night core and a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced blackcurrant aromas intermix with black cherry, scorched earth, old cedar, dried herbs and spice notes. Rich and quite full in body for Chianti the palate dishes up fleshy textured ripe blackcurrant and liquorice flavours with an underbelly of scorched earth, old cedar, dried herbs and spice. Slightly rustic finish with drying tannins, lively but well balanced acidity and a medium length aftertaste. A riper expression of Chianti done quite well.
