2016 Nietschke Julius Shiraz

Winemaker Troy Kalleske has produced an impressive rich, textured Barossa Shiraz. Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Elevated chocolate bullet, dark plum and aniseed aromas intermingle with vanillin oak and spicy mocha. Saturating the full bodied palate is a tidal wave of opulently textured liquorice, dark plum and ripe black cherry flavours which hover over a back drop of smoky vanillin oak, scorched earth and spicy pepper. Bright finish with finely grained yet prominent tannins. Excellent power with a long spicy liquorice, black cherry, dark plum, smoky cedar, scorched earth and black pepper aftertaste.
