2016 Nepenthe Pinnacle Ithaca Chardonnay

Matured for 9 months on yeast lees in a mixture of new and second fill French oak barrels. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish highlights around the edges and a watery hue. Subtle aromas of white peaches are overlaid by smoky gun flint characters with hints of dried honey and lemon butter also evident. Medium bodied with a faint creaminess to the otherwise fresh feel the palate is elegantly flavoured with spicy white peaches, subtle dried honey, lemon butter, smoky gun flint infusions and spice. Finishes dry with vibrant acidity. Aftertaste of spice, peaches, smoky gun flint infusions, dried honey and lemon butter.
