2016 Levrier Sorter Pinot Gris

Matured for 12 months on yeast lees and stored in French oak barrels (20% new) for 14 months. Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Nosing reveals a bouquet of fresh pears and ripe Jonathan apples overlaid by honeysuckle with quince and spice notes ensuing. The palate displays a fullish textural feel yet finishes with good freshness. Generous pear and ripe red apple flavours are to the fore overlaying notions of honeycomb, quince, lees characters and spice. Clean dry conclusion with bright acidity and an aftertaste of pears, red apples, subtle honeycomb, lees and spicy quince.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
