Veneto, Italy’s north-eastern region with Venice its capital, is home to the Pinot Grigio grape variety. Each year, since the 10th century, The Carnival of Venice is celebrated in the San Marco Square, with people dancing and feasting behind elaborate and exotic masks which is where this wine takes it’s name - La Maschera (the mask). Protected from the harsh northern European climate by the Alps, these cooler climes are somewhat similar to the coastal maritime regions of the Limestone Coast where the grapes for this wine were harvested.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts and a watery hue. Pear and apple aromas merge into some dried honey followed by some citrus and faint spice notes. The palate features delicious flavours of ripe red apples, pears and dried honey with a very appealing rounded almost luscious textural feel. Citrus and light spice nuances follow on with good vibrant acidity. Long red apple, ripe pear, dried honey and faint spice aftertaste.
