A blend of 86% Grenache, 11% Shiraz and 3% Mourvedre. Partial whole bunch fermentation was employed and the wine was matured in older oak. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright dark crimson hue. Fragrant red raspberry and red cherry aromas interplay with a hint of liquorice, faint incense and spice. Medium bodied the palate has a fresh vibrant feel to it with flavours of spicy red raspberries and red cherry flavours sitting over subtle infusions of incense and earth. Slightly dryish finish with finely grained tannins and bright acidity. Aftertaste of spicy red raspberries, red cherries, subtle incense and fresh herb infusions.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.2%

Other Reviews….
GSM blend from the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale. 86/11/3 distribution between grenache, shiraz and mourvèdre. The Grenache is grown on 40-year-old vines. “We are careful not to use too much shiraz in the blend to ensure the features of grenache are retained.” Smart.
In excellent form. The mix of fruit sweetness, savouriness and spiciness is exemplary. Boysenberry, black cherry and sweet raspberry flavours blend seamlessly with dry spice, earth and peppers. Oak flavour plays no obvious role. Floral notes though add a prettiness. Pitch perfect GSM. Drink 2017-2024.
