2016 Irvine The Estate Shiraz

Superb inky black purple core with an equally deep dark purple black hue. The youthfully scented nose offers up crushed berry notes followed by inky liquorice, light earth and spicy vanillin cedar. Medium bodied with a tight inky feel and bright acidity the palate hesitantly reveals flavours of inky crushed dark berries, liquorice, earth and spicy pepper. Dry finish with robust tannins partnering with the acidity to give the back palate a tight grippy feel. Aftertaste of inky liquorice, notions of crushed dark berries, earth and spicy pepper. Needs to be tucked away for a few years.
