Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive glimmer of green to the outskirts and a watery hue. Intense aromas of spicy ripe peaches and poached pears married to dried honey and ginger characters drift through the olfactory senses followed by hints of toasty oak, gun flint, light citrusy nougat and spice. Wonderfully rich and creamy yet at the same time refined and fresh, the palate is filled with flavours of fleshy white peaches, ripe pears and dried honey which are overlaid by some subtle dried clove characters. Citrusy nougat, spicy oak and delicate infusions of gun flint are also apparent. Finishes with fresh acidity and great finesse. Magnificent power with an exceptionally long aftertaste of spiced white peaches, pears, dried honey, notions of dried clove, spicy oak, citrusy nougat and gun flint.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews.....
Still basking in the sunlight of its vibrant freshness and, at the same time, its complexity. The Giaconda '16, '17 and '18 Chardonnays are magnificent. It is frowned upon these days to mention Burgundy, but on the scale of weight and complexity, these are the Montrachets, the Grand Crus of the Australian chardonnay landscape. The freshness and clarity of this wine keeps it right at the top. Drink by 2036.
