2016 Fraser Gallop Cabernet Merlot

This excellent blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec saw 15 months in used French oak. Deep bright dark red black tinged core with a vibrant dark red hue. Fragrantly scented nose of red currants, mulberries and red cherries meld beautifully into cedary tobacco characters and notions of bay leaf. Medium bodied with a fresh, youthful and elegant feel the palate is blessed with a savoury flavour profile of red currants and mulberries subtlety infused with bay leaf followed by light cedary tobacco characters and spice. Bright finish with finely grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of red currants, ripe mulberries, cedary tobacco characters and a touch of bay leaf.
