Other Reviews....
One-third of the 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village was lost to mildew this year and what survived is raised in 50% new oak. It has a very pure and suave bouquet: precise red berry fruit, sous-bois and cold slate-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannin, clean and fresh with a gorgeous blood orange note that enlivens the tensile red cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish. There is impressive substance to this village cru.

A lightly spiced nose of ripe red currant, plum and violet is trimmed in just enough wood to mention. The caressing middle weight flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that imparts a sleek and seductive mouthfeel as well as buffers the moderately firm tannic spine. I like the balance and this should drink well after only a few years of bottle age.
