2016 Clarence House Estate Pinot Noir

Clarence House Estate’s small vineyard is located just north of Hobart on a perfectly positioned north-east facing slope. The talented Anna Pooley from Pooley wines the contracted winemaker.

Semi translucent bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a crimson hue. Very perfumed nose with fragrant violet scents merging into ripe red cherry, strawberry and raspberry aromas. Hints of anise and spicy cedar ensue. Light in body the palate is filled with delicious vibrant fruit flavours of red cherries, strawberries and plums over a backdrop of violet infusions, subtle anise and spicy cedar. Supple mouthfeel with energetic acidity and velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power wave and purity of fruit with a long aftertaste of ripe red cherries, strawberries, plum, subtle anise and spicy cedar.
