Opaque dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Fragrant ripe red to black currant and violet scents blossom from the glass followed by mulberry, vanillin cedar, earth and subtle notions of bay leaf. Medium bodied, the elegant palate is blessed with finesse featuring ripe red to black currant fruits over spicy vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco characters and traces of bay leaf. Good fresh balanced acidity, super fine tannins and a long savoury aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.8%

Other Reviews….
It’s a hard act to get a straight Cab Franc going, but when it’s good, it’s often very good.
Red and blackcurrant, slight prune note, mint, pencils and spice. Medium-bodied, grip and grainy tannin, slightly nippy acidity, attractive perfume of dried herbs on a long insistently tannic finish. Needs a couple of years to settle, I feel, but potential here. Drink 2020-2028.
