2015 Yarraloch Single Vineyard Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with a glimmer of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Elevated nectarine and dried honey scents intermingle with hints of grapefruit, lemon butter, faint cashew and spice. Light to medium weight, this elegant, fresh Chardonnay is delicately flavoured with nectarine, citrusy grapefruit and dried honey over light biscuity oak and subtle spicy nougat. Finishes dry with vibrant acidity and a medium length aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years.

A perfect model of Yarra Valley chardonnay, making it all seem so easy, the result more to do with hands off, rather than hands on, vinification. It has the purity and length of the better Yarra chardonnays. Indeed, by the time the shouting is over, you decide if it's a little too straight-laced. Perhaps more time will prove the wine had it right all along. Drink by 2023.
