2015 Woodlands Russell Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with additions of Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Matured in new French, medium toast, barrels for 19 months. Impressive totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black hue. Potent blackcurrant and ripe mulberry scents along with a hint of red liquorice drift through the nostrils followed by vanillin cedar, tobacco, spicy dried herbs and light bay leaf. Rich and intensely flavoured yet possessing Bordeaux like refinement the palate is graced with generous ripe blackcurrant and red currant characters which sit over a background of mulberry, vanillin cedar, traces of earth, light tobacco, bay leaf and spice. Polished, superbly integrated tannin structure. Outstanding length with a long red to blackcurrant, mulberry, vanillin cedar, tobacco and bay leaf aftertaste.
