An impressive Rhone inspired blend of 60% Marsanne and 40% Roussanne. The vines for these two varieties are grown in the classic Beechworth granite soil on a south facing slope, so as to reduce the heat of the summer sun. They are densely planted, pruned, shoot and fruit thinned to ensure a small crop of highly flavoured fruit. The 2015 vintage year saw a very early spring frost that reduced the crop size, but the following seasons weather was ideal, with rain and heat at all the right times, and no disease in the vineyard. Maturation takes place in older French oak barriques.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. The nose displays good intensity with pronounced honeycomb and honeyed apricot scents followed by lemon butter with waxy end notes. Rich with a full, rounded, creamy textural feel the palate possesses flavours of honeycomb, subtle dried apricot, bees wax, lees and cashew with dashes of spice on the dry finish. Good balanced acidity. Long aftertaste of spicy bees wax, honeycomb, lees and lingering nuttiness.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
