2015 Villa i Cipressi Rosso di Montalcino

From the superb 2015 vintage this is a classic Rosso di Montalcino made from 100% Sangiovese and matured in Slavonian oak for 6-8 months. Deep dark red black core with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark cherries and ripe red currants gently infused with dried herbs drift from the glass. Earthy cedar, a hint of leather and spice ensue. Light to medium weight and quite elegant in its mouthfeel the palate has an engaging savoury edge to it with flavours of spicy dark cherries and red currants melding into earthy cedar, dried herbs and subtle leather elements. Good bright balanced acidity finishing dry with slightly chalky but fine tannins. Spicy aftertaste of dark cherries, red currants, earth, old cedar, traces of leather and dried herbs.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
