2015 Tibooburra Pinot Noir

A new discovery for us Tibooburra was established in 1967 by the Kerr family initially to farm a champion Angus cattle herd later expanding into truffle production to supply the lucrative European and Japanese restaurant market. It wasn’t until 2002 that they launched their wine label. Planted in 1996 with 80 acres under vine a large portion of the fruit is sold off to other wineries.

Blessed with exceptional 2015 vintage conditions Tibooburra have produced an outstanding Yarra Valley Pinot that’s rich, supple and possesses a superb power wave of flavour.

Matured for 12 months in French oak of which approximately 25% was new. Semi translucent dark red colour with a light crimson to dark red hue. Perfumed violet top notes overlay ripe red cherry and strawberry aromas followed by some meatiness, spicy cedar and subtle dried herbs. Light and savoury the palate possesses a wonderful power wave of flavour that includes ripe red cherries and strawberries combining with a dash of anise over some meaty characters and spicy cedar. Beautiful supple mouthfeel with silky smooth tannins and perfectly balanced acidity. Exceptionally long finish with an aftertaste of spicy ripe cherries, strawberries, a hint of anise and spicy cedar.
