2015 Te Mata Estate Awatea Cabernets Merlot

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Totally opaque black red colour with a bright purple red hue. Aromas of ripe red currants and mulberries meld into dusty cedar and tobacco notes with spicy dried herb scents also evident. Medium bodied with a very elegant and refined feel the palate is flavoured with spicy red currants and mulberries underscored by dusty vanillin cedar, some earthy tobacco infusions and dried herbs. Dryish finish. Plenty of structure here with slightly chalky tannins and bright acidity. Aftertaste of spicy red currants, mulberries, dusty vanillin cedar and dried herb infusions.
