2015 Stage Door Wine Co. Full House Cabernet Sauvignon

Stage Door Wine Co. is the project of Graeme Thredgold who has a long history in both the music and wine industry which has inspired the wines labels. Kim Teusner is the winemaker.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Uplifted aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry laced with cedary tobacco characters emanate from the glass. Subtle earth, mint and dried herb notes ensue. Medium to full bodied with abundant richness and a generous mouthfeel the palate features ripe blackcurrant, mulberry and cedary tobacco characters over dried herbs and spice. Very well integrated, finely grained yet structured tannins underpin the fruit. Good depth with a long blackcurrant, dried herb, mulberry, tobacco and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste. A very well made Cabernet crammed with flavour that would be a great match with lamb racks.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
Full house alright, and crammed to the rafters, but this riotous behaviour does allow chinks of light and gaps in the texture. Without these the wine might have been too monolithic. As it is, it's for real women (or real men). Drink by 2029.
