2015 Sandalford Estate Reserve Shiraz

Matured for 15 months in French oak of which 30% were new. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Nosing reveals aromatics of liquorice, black cherries and blackberries over some meatiness, vanillin cedar and pepper. Medium to full bodied with abundant rich fruit the palate dishes up generous flavours of liquorice and blackberries intermixed with vanillin cedar, a subtle meatiness and infusions of black pepper. Slightly dryish, sturdily built tannins. Good depth with a long liquorice, blackberry, blackpepper, dried meats and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste. A rich, savoury Margaret River Shiraz filled with pepper and spice.
