2015 Quealy Musk Creek Pinot Gris

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Ripe pear and apple aromas draped in honeycomb emerge from the glass followed by some confectionary. This is a big rich style of Pinot Gris that has a luscious mouthfeel. Generous ripe pear, red apple and honeycomb flavours fill the mouth over traces of musk and spicy ginger. Off dry finish with a touch of heat also present. Aftertaste of luscious pears, ripe red apples, honeycomb, musk and spicy ginger.

22yo vines, extended whole bunch-pressing, wild-fermented in stainless steel. The multiple layers that Kathleen Quealy has been able to achieve are startling, particularly given stainless steel fermentation ? must be something to do with extended whole bunch pressing. Drink by 2017.
