2015 Oakridge Over the Shoulder Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Aromatics of white peaches and nectarines intermingle with some dried honey followed by citrusy nougat and a hint of cashew. Light to medium weight the palate balances an elegant freshness against an understated richness with plentiful white peach and nectarine flavours overlaying a back drop of subtle dried honey, biscuity cashew and refreshing citrus. Clean dry finish with an aftertaste of white peach, nectarines, dried honey and biscuity cashew.

From Coldstream and three Upper Yarra sites (Woori Yallock, Gladysdale and Wandin). It's all about finely strung Yarra chardonnay, not about the winemaker or his thumbprints other than respect for the fruit. White peach, melon and citrussy acidity provide the flavour. Drink by 2021.
