2015 Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Murrummong Vineyard Arneis

A range of techniques were used to produce this excellent example of Arneis – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation, extended whole berry fermentation in open fermenters and maturation in old French oak.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of ripe red apples and pears are laced with hints of honeysuckle followed by fresh herb and light mineral end notes. The palate displays good weight with spicy red apple and ripe pear flavours to the fore intermixed with traces of honeysuckle and faint mineral. Full textural feel with just the right amount of fresh acidity on the finish. Medium to long aftertaste of spicy red apples, ripe pears, honeysuckle and light mineral.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
