Totally opaque black dark red core with a bright dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of dark plum and ripe dark cherries are overlaid by dried herbs with subtle spicy cedar end notes. The palate dishes up juicy but very youthful inky blackberry and ripe dark cherry flavours which intermix with some liquorice and earthy vanillin cedar followed by some faint spice. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins and bright acidity. Slightly chewy aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, inky blackberries, traces of liquorice, vanillin cedar and spicy earth.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
I like this! An inky purple to opaque hue brims with intent, yet the elevated Horseshoe Vineyard confers a granitic energy and pulpy savouriness to the parade of iodine and black fruits that storm the palate. An Italianate dry, structural focus sculpts the wine, the tannins offering a welcome respite of savour to the finish. Drink by 2025.
