2015 Lake Breeze Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet

A blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in American and French oak barriques for 20 months. The name ‘Bernoota’ was the original name given to the homestead on the Lake Breeze property – it is Aboriginal for ‘camp among the gum trees’.

Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a dark purple hue. Pronounced ripe blackberry, liquorice and blackcurrant aromas infused with mint rise from the glass, trailed by some lightly earthed vanillin cedar and spice notes. Rich and plush the palate is filled with generous juicy blackberry, ripe blackcurrant and liquorice flavours which sit over spicy vanillin cedar and subtle choc mint elements. Excellent body weight, concentration and length with velvety tannins and a long conclusion of spicy blackberry, blackcurrant, liquorice, vanillin cedar and subtle choc mint.
