2015 La Maison de Ong Dark Moon Syrah

Totally opaque black bright dark red colour with a dark purple red hue. Very fragrant nose displaying perfumed scents of violets, ripe blueberries and liquorice subtlety overlaid with hints of dried clove. Ensuing is some meatiness, fennel and light pepper. Medium bodied with an elegant fresh feel but also generously fruited and very savoury, the palate features flavours of ripe blueberries and liquorice infused with subtle smoky vanillin cedar over fennel, traces of dried clove and some meatiness. Perfectly integrated tannins meld seamlessly to the fruit. Long refined aftertaste of ripe blueberries, liquorice, subtle dried clove infusions, fennel and spicy vanillin cedar.
