Home Hill is one of your classic Australian vineyard retreats that functions as both a serious winery and a charming getaway with restaurant included. The focus here is primarily on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sylvaner and Sparkling wine, but their track record really shines with Pinot. Over recent vintages they have clearly established themselves as one of Tasmania’s best and most consistent producers of the varietal, culminating in their 2014 Home Hill Reserve Pinot Noir taking out the Jimmy Watson Trophy last year.

Savoury, exceptionally long and deliciously moreish, this is another superb Pinot from Home Hill.

Deep bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright dark red hue. Intense aromatics of ripe dark cherries and strawberries laced with violet overlay a back drop of subtle anise infusions, some meatiness and spicy cedar. Rich and supplely textured yet graceful in its movement across the palate, delicious flavours of ripe dark cherries and plum intermixed with some anise flood the mouth over some dried meats and spicy cedar. Excellent youthful freshness with beautifully integrated satiny tannins. Outstanding power wave with a very long driving finish of ripe dark cherries, plum, spicy dark strawberries, subtle anise, dried meats and spicy cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 13.6%
