2015 Golden Ball La-Bas Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Elevated aromatics of nectarines, delicate white peaches and a faint whiff of grapefruit are overlaid by biscuity oak and funky flinty matchstick notes with some faint cashew and spicy citrus following on. Rich and creamy in texture yet at the same time elegant and refined the palate is blessed with mouthfilling flavours of white peaches, dried honey and a touch of grapefruit. Also evident are complexing elements of smoky gun flint, biscuity oak, subtle cashew and mineral. Perfectly balanced acidity. Superb length and power finishing with a very long white peach, dried honey, gun flint, biscuity oak, spicy cashew and mineral aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
