2015 Gioiello Estate Old Hill Chardonnay

Fermented in French oak barriques using wild yeast and left to mature on lees for 12 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Elevated aromas of nectarine, white peach and hints of grapefruit are trailed by citrus and gun flint. Fresh and elegant the palate features nectarine and light grapefruit flavours subtlety infused with gun flint and spicy, lightly toasted oak. Clean dry finish with vibrant acidity. Lightly creamed mid palate with an aftertaste of nectarines, grapefruit, gun flint, citrusy nougat and subtle toast.
Cellar 4-5 years.

Wild-fermented in French barriques, matured for 12 months. A well made, elegant wine with good balance, length and varietal expression. Not a hair out of place, but no X-factor either. Drink by 2023.
